Schepenhuis

3km
The Schepenhuis of Mechelen is the first stone town hall in Flanders and knows a very rich history. From town hall and meeting room of the urban "vierschaar" in the 13th century to head seat for the Big Council and Parliament of Mechelen in the 15th century. Because of this, the city transformed into the judicial centre of the Bourgondic Netherlands under the reign of Karel de Stoute.
